Peptide Reconstitution Guide for Laboratory Use

Introduction

Proper reconstitution is critical for maintaining peptide integrity in laboratory research settings. This guide covers best practices for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides.

Materials Required

  • Lyophilized peptide vial
  • Bacteriostatic water (BAC water)
  • Insulin syringe or pipette
  • Alcohol swabs
  • Vortex mixer (optional)

  • Step-by-Step Process

  • Allow vial to reach room temperature — Remove from -20°C storage and let sit for 15-30 minutes.
  • Sanitize — Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
  • Calculate volume — Use our [Reconstitution Calculator](/calculator) to determine BAC water volume.
  • Add BAC water slowly — Inject water down the side of the vial, not directly onto the peptide cake.
  • Gently swirl — Do not shake vigorously. Allow to dissolve fully.
  • Store reconstituted peptide — Keep at 2-8°C and use per your laboratory protocol.

  • Important Notes

  • Never use sterile water without bacteriostatic agent for multi-dose vials
  • Always verify calculations independently
  • All products are for in-vitro research use only
